Recirculating seal water can pick up debris from lines and tanks even though it is prevented from contacting the fluid being pumped.
These contaminants can be as abrasive as those in the pumpage, damaging the seal and the pumps. Most pumps incorporate a small orifice in the seal water line to restrict the volume of water used to cool the bearing assembly. If this orifice becomes plugged, bearing damage and downtime can result.
For gland seal water, we typically recommend the AFR-Series Backwashing Pressure Filter Systems.
