To reduce fresh water usage and control waste water treatment costs, many mills are beginning to examine membrane systems to remove color, TOCL and TDS from effluents for reuse or further processing.
The success of these systems depends on extending the cleaning intervals and overall life of the costly membrane elements. A critical factor is preventing the membranes from "seeing" suspended solids that could foul the system prematurely or damage the membrane.
For pretreatment of effluent waters before membrane systems we typically recommend the AFR-Series Backwashing Pressure Filter System as a stand alone system or our MAX-LOAD Cartridge Filter System.
