We offer the Ronningen-Petter brand REACTOGARD amine filter system for acid gas removal in treating loops found in gas treating, ammonia, ethylene and most cracking or distillation plants.
Amine sweetening units generally require media with retention's of 10-25 microns. For the elevated temperature and pressures experienced in these systems, 10-25 micron single-layer woven wire with 316 stainless steel screens is usually recommended.

The REACTOGARD as an amine filtration system consists of multiple banks of filter elements running in parallel with each bank handling a portion of the total process flow.
When cleaning of the filter element is required, the system continues operation without interruption by momentarily isolating a single filter bank from the flow and sequentially backwashing each element on the bank.
This sequential backwashing of each element ensures more thorough cleaning because the total backwash energy is directed to each individual element.
Amine filtration should occur downstream of the heat exchanger and pump, as well as before and after carbon column. Filtering at these points will remove scale and products of corrosion, protect the carbon filter and prevent foaming in the contactor/absorber.
Different amine filters are required by various plants for the rich side and lean side of the amine loop.
Rich Side Amine Filtration:
The REACTOGARD is an ideal solution because of its backwash. It removes scale and products of corrosion, protects the heat exchanger from plugging, reduces regenerator cleaning, and protects valves and instruments while maintaining amine activity. For gas processors who require an ultra-clean stream, it provides a low-foaming solution.
Lean Side Amine Filtration:
The MAX-LOAD high efficiency filter bags and cartridges are good filtration choices. MAX-LOAD provides absolute filtration down to 0.5 micron with dirt-holding capacity up to 100 lbs. per cartridge, and dirt-loading filtration down to 1 micron for easy and cost-effective disposal.
The backwashing REACTOGARD filter is recommended if disposal issues are a concern. Slotted wedge wire, wire mesh, and polypropylene and Dacron fabric media are available for this challenge.
