Coarse residue in pigment slurries can result from contamination during transport and storage. This is from contaminants in make-up water, inadequate make-down of clay agglomerates, aggregation of clay particles resulting from phosphate degradation, and coarse accessory materials (quartz, mica, rust) not removed during the processing by the supplier.
For pigments, we typically recommend the DCF Mechanically-Cleaned Filter Systems or a MAX-LOAD Cartridge Filter System.
