Coarse residue in pigment slurries can result from contamination during transport and storage, from contaminants in make-up water, from inadequate make-down of clay agglomerates, aggregation of clay particles resulting from phosphate degradation, and from coarse accessory materials (quartz, mica, rust) not removed during the processing by the supplier.
For pigments, we typically recommend the AFR Automatic Backwashing Filter, DCF Self-Cleaning Filter, or a MAX-LOAD Bag and Cartridge Filter system.
Due to higher flow rates in the receiving area, we typically recommend the DCF Self-Cleaning Filter System or a MAX-LOAD Bag Filter system.
Filtration should also occur at an additive's point of use. For this specific application, we recommend the DCF Self-Cleaning Filter Systems and MAX-LOAD Bag Filter system.
