Flow rate, particle retention and the characteristics of an additive will dictate which type of filter is most appropriate. Silica filtration should occur at offloading in receiving, out of the storage tank(s), and immediately before entry to the paper machine.
Due to higher flow rates in the receiving area, we typically recommend the AFR Automatic Backwashing Filter, or a MAX-LOAD Bag and Cartridge Filter system.
Filtration should also occur at an additive's point of use. For this specific application, we recommend the DCF Mechanically-Cleaned Filter Systems and MAX-LOAD Bag and Cartridge Filter system.
